Quiet Advice

Randy, I'm going to write this assuming you are who you say you are. People fight spam because spam costs ISPs billions of dollars, raises the cost of Internet connectivity, and hurts every Internet user, who faces not only trashed email boxes, but the hassle and expense of switching accounts, munging email addresses, higher ISP bills, and more difficulty in using email, especially with regard to legitimate email lists.

Yes, I know. You didn't mean to contribute to this. You wanted only to make some money. You got taken by a fraud who sold you an "opt-in" list. You suffered the repercussions.

You can take one of two lessons away from this experience.

I hope you will learn that opportunities that sound easy often have something wrong with them, that it is important to carefully investigate a business before signing up for it, that the liars and thieves do their best to look just like honest people, that sometimes YOU can become part of a problem just by being too naive and trusting, that the law does not and cannot address every dishonest scheme, and that there are worse things than graduating from college with some debt. If you learn that lesson, you are on your way to maturing into an honest and competent person that the rest of us would be happy to have as our colleague, in-law, and friend.

Alternatively, you can just think there are a bunch of **** who are out to keep you from easy money. The solution is to ignore them, to dismiss their complaints, and to build a business shield between you and them, but the key thing is not to let them stand between you and Your Financial Goals. If you learn that lesson, you are on the road to lots of future spams, MLM schemes, cons, and shady business deals. You'll always be puzzled that you can't seem to find any competent partners or employees. You will write it off to luck that it takes you four marriages before you find a wife who "appreciates your innovative personality." You will think yourself smart to make as much money "easily" as do others who study and work "hard" to come by theirs. And if you don't, you'll blame others for making a mess of things. When you find yourself on the wrong end of a court docket, you'll look at the prosecuting attorney as just one more example of the kind of **** who is always sticking their nose in your business and screwing up your plans.

Your choice.
